How To Navigate “Doing It All” While Staying True To Yourself

When was the last time you asked yourself if the dreams and goals you’re chasing are really yours?

We live overwhelmed, overcommitted, increasingly anxious about getting it all done. Social media feeds burst with entrepreneurs launching overnight successes, seemingly doing it all while living their best lives. It’s tempting to constantly compare our daily behind-the-scenes struggles to the highlight reels we see online. Yet no one can sustainably do it all, all the time without eventually burning out. We all need moments of ease, alignment, and self-care.

On a recent episode of Leading With Intention, I shared my personal journey moving from busy to balanced. I offered key strategies any driven woman can use to transform from overfunctioning to overflowing with calm and ease. I completely understand the urge to overextend – I’m a recovering overachiever myself! Now, I live and lead more fully by first getting clear on my core vision and values to guide daily choices.

Reframing Success

What does success really mean to you? Society often pushes a limited perspective of achievement tied to status, wealth or acclaim. I encouraged you to expand your mindset from accomplishment to self-actualization: realizing our full potential over time with curiosity and compassion.

Embracing Self-Actualization

When we remove judgment about what “good enough” means, we open space for latent talents to unfold. We can thoughtfully shape legacy-driven leadership stemming from within rather than worrying about external validation. Defining your unique measures of success is essential to avoid chasing someone else’s dream life

Intention to Impact

Once you rediscover your “why,” what next steps help you live intentionally?

It's time to take what you learned and move from intention to action.

I shared my 3-step framework to Prioritize What Matters; click on each to find an intention and an action to integrate into your daily life.

  • Intention: Define Your Vision - Envision your life's future—whether it's a 1, 3, 5, or 10-year plan. What does success look like for you?

Action: Identify Core Values - Uncover your core values; let them guide your decisions and actions.

  • Intention: Define Life Accounts - What themes or areas are essential in your life? Identify 3 that matter most.

Action: Circle Your Top 3 - Prioritize and focus on the themes that will have the biggest impact on your journey right now.

  • Intention: Align with Vision - Set one goal or intention for each life account that aligns with your bigger vision.

Action: Reflect and Adapt - Assess your goals—do they align with your vision? What adjustments are needed?

Remember:

  • You don't have to do it all. Challenge the narrative of constant hustle and recognize the power of intentional, strategic moves.

  • The journey towards your vision is a marathon, not a sprint. Define your big goals for this season, align them with your current priorities, and embark on this transformative journey.

Staying true to your best self is about consistent small steps forward, not doing it all at once. When stressed, come back to your vision to stay centered in purpose. You got this!
